"Cleopatra's Daughter" {by Michelle Moran} Book Club Ideas

DECEMBER IS OUR BIGGEST BOOK CLUB OF THE YEAR...
...READ THIS POST TO SEE ALL THE REASONS WHY!

REASON #1:
THE FOOD WILL ROCK YOUR WORLD!!
We always have great food at each of our meetings but the December book club tops them all!
We have been eating our traditional CHEESE & CHOCOLATE FONDUE for the past 6 December book clubs and I'm already looking forward to it this year! We have every dipping imaginable for the cheese and chocolate so no one leaves hungry!
Thanks again to Libby and Angie for making our delicious cheese fondue's and Thank You  Cassandra for bringing the sinfully good dark chocolate fondue!!

REASON #2
BEING IN THE COMPANY OF FRIENDS!
Shalease, Sandra, Kitch, Libby, Cassandra & her sweet Mom, Chello (I hope I spelled that right!)

Miranda, Chanel and her sister Caitlin.

Brooke and her sweet little man Cade!

Mindy and Robin showing off their naughty and nice sides!

REASON #3
OUR BOOK DISCUSSION WAS FABULOUS!
Kitch won 1st place in Sandra's fun quiz based on facts from "Cleopatra's Daughter!"
Each item in the gift box was something mentioned from the book. Sandra then labeled each item with it's "official" Egyptian name.
I believe that Libby won 2nd place and won an adorable prize as well!

REASON #4
MY BOOK CLUB LADIES SPOIL ME!!
Two of my dearest friends, Angie and Kellie, secretly asked everyone in our book club to submit an email explaining "What our Delicious Reads Book Club means to them," and to also write me a little note saying whatever was in their hearts.
I was SHOCKED when the room got quiet and they said that everyone wanted to do a little something for me as they presented me with this adorable pouch filled with the most tender, thoughtful, sweet, kind and gonna make me cry notes!

And cry I did.

After everyone left I sat on my couch and read each note twice blinking away the tears and I realised that I have friends of gold. My book club is so much more to me than a group of woman who meet to discuss books, its family, it's friends and it holds a piece of my heart.
Thank You all again for the light you bring into my life.

I also received this book with my surprise, "...And Ladies of the Club" which looks exactly like the kind of book I would love! I can't wait to get started on it!
"...And Ladies of the Club" centers on the members of a book club and their struggles to understand themselves, each other, and the tumultuous world they live in. A true classic, it is sure to enchant, enthrall, and intrigue readers for years to come."

Thank You Kellie and Angie for organizing my priceless gift, and for making me cry!
XoXo!

REASON #5
OUR BOOK CLUB BOUTIQUE!
We have so many talented women in our group who make or sell fabulous products and talents that 3 years ago I decided to start organizing our once a year "Book Club Boutique!"
The boutique lasts for 45 minutes and everyone who has something to sell talks about their product and then we whip out our wallets and make the rounds buying fabulous and unique gifts for Christmas!

REASON #6
OUR FAVORITE THINGS WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT EXCHANGE!
A few years ago we thought it would be fun to start doing a white elephant gift exchange as a way to get to know each other better.
HOW DOES IT WORK YOU MIGHT ASK?
Well, I'll tell you!

I email out the same 4X6 note card to everyone who then prints it off and writes WHY the gift she purchased is one of her favorite things but she does NOT write her name on the card. The card must be somewhere accessible on the outside of the gift and then is secretly dropped off in a bin at the front door when she arrives. Then, when someone picks up a gift from the bunch, they first have to read the card and guess who they think the gift belongs to. If they are right they can open the gift (and hope to keep it if it's not stolen) and the game continues.

And let me just say, this game is giggles!

Angie was SO excited to win Karen's prize of the just released "Clockwork Prince" book with homemade caramels!
(Before it was stolen from her that is...)

REASON #7
DECEMBER BOOK CLUB STARTS MY MONTH OFF RIGHT!
